Nursery

St. Mary’s CE Primary School is proud to be able to provide a warm and welcoming nursery provision for 3 and 4-year-olds offering both 15 hours and 30 hours funding.

Within our nursery we aim to develop your child’s confidence and build upon what they have learnt from you. Working with you and your family ensures that your child will enjoy a happy and educationally rewarding time at our Nursery.

At St. Mary’s we pride ourselves on our happy, friendly and caring atmosphere, as well as our strong Christian ethos, which underpins all that we do. We have excellent links with St. Mary’s Church and we endeavour to help all our children develop their understanding of the Christian faith.

Our experienced and able Early Years Team aim to offers an introduction to a more formal school life for your child. It is an ideal start for the children, getting them used to routines and school life.  The EYFS Curriculum is progressive and covers both Nursery and Reception age groups; giving your Nursery child the opportunity to engage and develop progressive skills and knowledge within the Nursery. They will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Reception children, engage in whole school activities and events, supporting and preparing them for the transition into Reception.

Nursery hours

Full time 9.00 am to 3pm

Mornings 9:00 am to 12.00pm

 

Nursery Places

St. Mary’s is able to provide 26 full-time equivalent places within our nursery provision taught by a full-time teacher and a highly qualified teaching assistant.

Children are able to start once they turn 3 years old:

Children who turn 3 years old before 1st September can start in September.

Children who turn 3 years old before 1st January can start in January.

Depending on numbers we may be able to offer an April start for children who turn 3 years old before the 1st April.

All 3 to 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of free early education or childcare per week.

Extra sessions can be purchased if required as we have the flexibility to offer additional afternoon sessions or full time places, which are at a competitive rate. If children are staying all day they have access to our school lunch menu or can bring a pack lunch. Please ring the office to discuss our availability.

We also offer morning wrap-around care from 7,30am with our Breakfast Club and there is the option for the children to stay in Nursery from 3.00pm-3.30pm, with the Nursery staff until the after school care provision begins with Edstart. 

 

Please note a place in our Nursery does not guarantee a place in our Reception class and you will need to follow the admission process. Further information can be found in admissions.

 

For children starting in September 26 we will be holding open days in the Spring and Summer term.
